More Bulb Seal and High Beam Switch

I’ve really run out of any major things to do on the car at this point, at least before I get the body onto the car. I tried to spend some time in the garage today doing some stuff, and I spent more time thinking about things I could do that actually doing anything.

I finished up the high beam switch wiring, and got some photos of the bulb seal from yesterday, though.

Installing the high beam switch wiring was pretty straightforward.  I extended the wires to the switch and bundled them into a harness, and ran them up into the space behind the dash.

For power, I removed the headlight wiring from the 8-pin connector going to the dash and the headlight switch in the dash, and added a third wire to it. Now the headlight switch provides power to the two HID ballast relays and provides power to the high-beam foot switch. From the switch, power runs straight to the high beam bulbs without a relay. In this case, the power draw is low enough to not need one.

I realized a bit ago that I totally spaced out wiring the high-beam indicator in the dash, though. I have to go back through my notes and find which harness it is in, but it should be easy to wire up tomorrow.

One last bit of sheet metal that needed installing was the panel at the rear of the transmission tunnel. It didn’t take long to quickly drill and rivet it to the car.

At this point I really just need to get the body on the car. I’m hoping I may have a helping hand or two tomorrow to do that, but nothing is confirmed yet at this point. If not, I’ll probably fix the high beam wiring, and tweak the dash wiring so the hazard lights work correctly, and flash the dash indicators and just spend the day relaxing, I suppose.
